Life/Time: March 2017

The month of March brought me new photographic inspiration: Street Photography. I am best known for my conceptual photographs where I pick, place, and position a few elements in a photograph to create a deeper under lying image than what lies on the surface. While this way of photographing is extremely rewarding and gratifying it is equally stressful and mentally taxing. I spend hours, day, weeks working on ways to speak a novel of words through a single photograph using two to three common place objects as my text. While these single images are master works that are timeless in appeal and potential they are delicate and can not be rushed. This new photographic inspiration to “find the photo” has me walking miles on end in the streets of my town, Austin, Tx. carrying my trusty Rollei35 film camera with me everywhere I go, ready for anything.

I look forward to introducing these new “found images” into my large format silk screen works and sharing them with you all in upcoming exhibitions. I hope you enjoy the March 2017 Photo Roundup. Questions, comments, and criticism are all welcomed and encouraged.
